Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Healing begins with understanding all the parts of who you are.
What Is IFS?
Internal Family Systems is built on the idea that the mind isn't one single voice — it's made up of different "parts," each with its own role, feelings, and protective intentions. Some parts try to keep you safe by avoiding pain (managers), some react impulsively in moments of distress (firefighters), and some carry old wounds (exiles). At the center of all of this is your core "Self" — calm, curious, and compassionate. IFS helps you access that Self and build understanding with every part of you, rather than fighting against them.

How It Works
Your therapist will guide you to gently turn inward and get curious about different parts that show up — anger, fear, perfectionism, self-criticism. Instead of suppressing or judging these parts, you learn to listen to what they're protecting and why. As trust builds between your Self and your parts, old patterns begin to soften and heal.

What to Expect
IFS sessions feel reflective and exploratory rather than purely problem-solving. Many clients describe a profound shift in how they relate to their own inner experience — moving from self-judgment to self-compassion.
